About Sunrise Pediatrics

Dr. Weston is a native of Carteret County and followed in the footsteps of her parents to provide primary care on the Crystal Coast. After graduating from college and medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Dr. Weston completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. She stayed on as faculty and a newborn and pediatric hospitalist for 5 years, then decided to move her family home. After practicing primary care pediatrics in Carteret County for the past 7 years, Dr. Weston is thrilled to open Sunrise Pediatrics, alongside her fantastic team of clinicians. She also has over a decade of experience helping families achieve their breastfeeding goals as an IBCLC. With Dr. Weston you can expect a patient and family-centered approach grounded in evidence-based medicine, along with strong advocacy for her patients’ needs.

Maureen is originally from the Philadelphia area. She grew up doing gymnastics, which led her to LSU on a gymnastics scholarship. As a Biology and Health Science major, she began her journey to become a PA.   After graduating from LSU, she went on to PA school at Wake Forest University. The first part of her career was in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, and the past thirteen years she has spent in Pediatrics and breastfeeding medicine. As a parent of two grown children, Maureen is honored to help families navigate their health and wellness journey.

Jada Taylor is a board-certified nurse practitioner in family care. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University in 2012 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2023. She has experience in Internal Medicine, Women’s Health, and Pediatrics. She has practiced here locally in Pediatrics for the past 10 years.  She is a native of Lumberton, NC and started her nursing career 24 years ago. While she is not local to the area, she is a familiar face in the community. Prior to obtaining her FNP, she worked in Labor and Delivery and the Newborn Nursery at Carteret Health Care for 10 years. It has been a rewarding experience for her to now care for the same children that she helped deliver many years ago. She looks forward to continuing to provide high quality evidenced based care to the children and families of Carteret County with her phenomenal team at Sunrise Pediatrics!  Jada is married and has two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of all things the beautiful Crystal Coast has to offer!
